I would go to your local Apartment Association. They usually have classes for you to excel to higher positions, etc.

Have you considered making a lateral move to another company that values their employees and will provide the training and education you need? Most will do so, gladly. A well-trained, educated employee that is upwardly-promotable only serves to better the company.

First of all, Congrats on wanting to educate yourself and move up. This is the best industry and your career can go any direction you want it to go!

Second, I agree with the post about making a lateral move. Perhaps you have maxed out on your learning opportunities with your current position and it's time to find a new classroom, so to speak.

Finally, sometimes advertising partners offer leasing classes. Check with your vendors. In addition, there are also a ton of online tutorials via YouTube and/or Lynda.com for free or very low cost. I love the leadership and management videos at Lynda.com.

I would start with online training and earn your NALP and CAM through the Apartment Association. Yes, it does cost money, but you can take out a small loan, if necessary, and write it off on taxes later. Check, too, to see if there is an educational reimbursement available with your current employer. If there isn't DO IT ANYWAY. Then YOU will feel marketable (I think you already are!) and seek another position elsewhere. In the meantime, create a little spreadsheet or word doc listing your accomplishments. The fact that you are keeping your community highly occupied and want to learn is the best trait an employer is looking to find in a new hire.
