The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued their final ruling in regards to the Regional SEER rating standards that are now in effect. If I'm understanding them correctly, it is now (as of August 15th) illegal to install a new condensing unit on an unmatched (below 14SEER) air handler/coil.

In addition to this communities must improve their record-keeping for replacements going forward with new documentation requirements, as well as more responsibility for suppliers as they are potentially held responsible for systems sold to persons that are not installing them to meet the efficiency requirements

Thoughts?
