Topic: Asking Residents for Reviews

We are attempting to increase our number of recent reviews, but I'm having a tough time finding the proper wording to request our renewing residents to post positive reviews.
The reviews we have are old and do not reflect the positive changes we have made to our property over the last few years.
I know that we will not be offering any form of reward for reviews, we want them to be genuine. How can I ask residents to review without sounding needy or despirate?

I like to ask them in person! Whenever someone provides any positive feedback I'll just ask if they would be interested in sharing their experience. When they respond positively you can send them a quick email with a link to the review sites/platforms you are focusing on.

You might also include a blurb in a newsletter that says you're working on boosting/updating online reviews, and include a link there too.

And don't forget to get the entire team in on the strategy. The maintenance staff can drum up support pretty easily too as they interact with the residents.

First: It would be wise to set up a review station in your office. The station should consist of an iPad or computer, light refreshments, a framed letter requesting reviews and instructions on how to post them (it should be hand signed by each employee) and it should be an attention grabber. When your residents stop by to pay rent, retrieve packages and etc ask them to post a review. You can even ask your prospects to submit a review upon completion of a tour.

Second: You should instruct your maintenance staff to leave a note behind upon completion of every work order. That note should include his or her name and a request for an online review.

People love to know that their opinions matter. You will find that you will get a great response simply just by asking!

Just ask residents that you have a relationship with to post a recommendation for the community. It's very simple to request reviews. You just ask them to do you a favor. Give them the website and tell them the steps needed to make a recommendation. You will be surprised and blown away by the positive feedback!
