What type of learning captures your attention?

What type of learning captures your attention? 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 40
As I read through the blogs here on MFI, I notice that some of the blogs are thought-provoking conceptual ideas, some are specific ideas to implement, some are very statistics oriented, some are lessons from different industries, and a host of other types of styles. So I'm curious which ones really hit a nerve with all of you?

Me - I LOVE seeing what is currently working in other industries and applying it to our own.

There were a couple blogs posts last month that I absolutely loved!! "Will You Be Remembered as the Smelly Kid?" by Morgan Oney posted July 22 and "The Yellow Brick Road to Nowhere" by Chrissy Surprenant posted July 23. Both caught my attention quickly by their creative titles (Good job Morgan & Chrissy!!).

I loved the content of each post. Both had good experiences to introduce what works and what doesn't work. I loved the suggestions Morgan provided in getting rid of various apartment smells as we're all faced with similar challenges at some time or another.

I also found Chrissy's experiences shocking, but think the shock factor helped everyone evaluate their own techniques and procedures for following-up.

So in answer to your question Brent, I learn from others' lessons. As much as I love statistics and believe they are essential in many aspects, I find I remember the stories more.

I like to see when blog posts give specific examples or case studies on the content they are addressing.

The oh-so-common example for me are the blogs that talk about correctly implementing social media in your business plans. It's easy to talk about the theory of correct implementation, however, it's much more effective when accompanied by a real-life example or a case study that examines and adds understanding to the content.
