I'm curious what creative photo contests you all have done on social media! (or just ideas floating around in your head) Anything worth sharing with the group? (Feel free to share the pictures!)

Here are some fun ones I was thinking about today:
  • Pet pictures - not "new" but always a good one
  • Dumb but fun? Action shots of jumping mid-air onto the couch or maybe jumping on the bed. I think residents would have a lot of fun creating these.
  • This wouldn't be a resident-submitted picture, but I love the idea of getting all the residents of a building to go out on their balcony and wave to the camera - I think that would make a great picture!

Every fall, we do a door decorating contest (most go with Halloween theme, but we don't require it). We choose the winners of each building, and then post the building winners on our Facebook page. The door that gets the most "likes" wins the overall contest. Residents have a lot of fun with it, and it gives our page exposure.

SELFIE CONTESTS! Selfies are BIG, with more than a MILLION taken every single day! WHEW!
So we've done a couple of different things: The Selfie of the Week where residents send any of their selfies and the one with the most likes wins.
Or create a Selfie Station in the office or at an amenity (with either a life-sized celebrity or dress up stuff) and the one with the most likes wins.
They definitely get shares and likes!
I bet other folks have been even more creative with selfies, but ours worked!

We've seen clients have lots of fun with photo contents. Pet and pet costume are always popular. For garden style units: Balcony Decor Contests. Spring and holiday decor contests. All wonderful ways to showcase the communities and have fun.
