Hey Y'all - Share your RockStardom Story. Ours? "Rock Thy House."

It takes a Village to Share and Care in the success of all things.

Only makes sense to utilize the RockStardom inside of your own company to share the Love about your work Culture.

My fave example...Zappos.com. An annual book is eagerly compiled by the Zappos employees celebrating their Core Values.

While the Core Values are a plaque on the wall at Zappos, the words take action in radiating throughout the company both with trying to WOW their customers, but beginning with trying to WOW their employees, vendors and business partners. Their belief? "...Create a virtuous cycle, and in our own way, we're making the world a better place and improving people's lives." Quoting Tony Hsieh, CEO - Zappos.com

Check out an employee quote randomly selected;

"I heard someone in the hallway say "I am covered in glitter and I smell like Chinese food". That really stuck with me. I am truly grateful each day I walk through the doors that I can be challenged encouraged and grow; I can laugh and play. I am able to spend my days in an environment that operates with and supports the same beliefs I hold close to my heart. There really is no place like Zome."
Kelly D./Merchandising
Zappos.com Employee since Nov 13, 2006

I know how Kelly D. feels.

I've been on my career trail for over 25 years and my journey through those proverbial hills and valleys have led me to the Wiki-House.

I love it here.I am Wiki-Fied.

Every day, I get to play, work, sing, joke, share, cry, laugh, play with weazel balls (keep it clean), flair hair and slinkies, and after hours try to gulp down sake bomz without dribbling alongside fascinating, brilliant Mentors who are equally passionate, emboldened and uniquely so talented and gifted we should start our own TAG program.

And the best part...we work in tandem with the goal of building and providing the best and most effective Wiki's and Widgets possible to serve our clients and consumers. We are open, we are nimble, we are flexible.

Even our disharmony is harmonious. We don't always agree, but we disagree respectfully and settle disputes with armwrestling.

We share the common faith that in doing the right things, living and learning from our highs and lows, in the long run we will succeed and build something absolutely spectacular.

My motto that I have "borrowed" from our industry buddy, Mike Brewer, "Rock Thy House". The Wiki-House it is a-rockin' and it would be a blast for you guys to all come a-'knockin'!

Your turn...Share your story.

I love it - T.

I believe down deep in my heart of hearts that organizations exist to serve the people that serve it! And, it is mission one to add value to the lives of the people that give their blood, sweat and tears to the cause. And, it is a cause, cause if it's not it's not worth doing.

In the immortal words of Mr. Peters - Work is theater and every business is a stage. Leaders get that and as such they erect the stages, dress the environments, provide the costumes, trumpet the accolades of the stars in the making and then they exit stage right to let the Action unfold. They love the people from the depths of their being not for the business results but rather for all that the people become! It's all about building crazy amazing character(s)!!!

Have a stellar evening - T

My life with my team pumps me up everyday. I think of words like, fluid, creative, targeted, cooperative and many others. We are a small team but a cohesive one. When things are going wrong, we have no trouble stopping what we are doing and working through frustrations and at the same time when all the cool things happen we do the same thing, we stop for a moment and celebrate and thank all who are involved. I work with a rock star team who oozes enthusiasm for taking care of each other and for our friends of which some of them happen to be clients. Nice post Tamela ~~JS

Mike and Jonathan, your exuberance oozes through your words into your tweets and blog posts. Your joie de vivre is infectious. Thanks for your comments.

It's quite obvious that your feel the same about your daily walk as I do. The folks I work with encourage each other to ride the waves, we have a fire for fashion (I love the shoe part), we embrace walking the earth and together, we'll run like the wind.

Gosh...do I sound like a Coke commercial, or what?
Thanks for your comments. T
