LOST Palindrome (not Alaskan for "Governator-ess")

Yes, the tv show, "LOST" resumes tonight.

Allegedly, it's the final season answering all unanswered questions. Except why Erica Kane still lives in Pine Valley.

Or maybe I have my Soaps confused. Or maybe they're gonna find out that Erica Kane and Pine Valley are on the other side of the LOST island living all this time with Bob Newhart, Larry, Darryl and Darryl. And Taylor Swift will co-write the theme song with Kanye putting to music all of the LostLove's-gone-wrong. And MikeVick will have his own reality show. Oh wait...THAT's another whole blogpost on it's own.

Random thoughts, surely. Nevertheless, it's a timely pop-culture day to share this YouTube video I ran across on a Friend'sFacebook page while answering a LinkedIn message that popped up on my email while I was commenting on a multifamily blog that was Tweeted from my FriendFeed. (I try to aggregate my communication tools to reduce the aggravation of losing something.)

For those of us in the apartment business and beyond, I encourage you to visit YouTube "Lost Generation"; press "Play", watch, listen and heed the palindrome about what many of us label our key apartment demographic. Of course, to add more zaniness to this entire post, the video was created for the AARP.

Maybe we should include retired persons as our target demographic.
And, then, we could create a housing niche geared towards serving the housing needs of our armed forces.
In this economy, a focus on offering affordable housing is very much needed.
Oh yeah! Student housing requirements are different from others - they should be our core demographic.

Heavens-to-Betsy...our industry already serves all of these needs don't we? We are a cyclical group...the needs of one don't always serve another, but does building on it all make us better at each? I vote, "YES."

From my peanut gallery vantage point, the video basically states that no matter what is said, how it is said changes meaning and the meaning can apply to a plethora of needs-to-be-met. A one-out solution (not referring to a knee-hole in your Levi's) is never going to be an answer in defining resolution.

A Palindrome (no...not an Alaskan word for a "Governatoress") is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units that can be read the same way in either direction. This "Lost Generation" YouTube vid can be used as a daily meditation moment reminding us not to underestimate anyone who crosses our path.

Quoting another YouTube sensation sage, Eric Qualam, "It's a People-driven Economy, Stupid" (check it out on RentWiki's YouTube Channel), with the "People" element factored in there, the only answer we can be sure of is that if we try to pigeon-hole or underestimate People (be they consumers, residents, co-workers, peers, teenagers or toddlers) we will forever be Lost.

And with that...if we pool our nickels, dimes and quarters, we can bail Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George out of jail. No wait...Larry David already did that.
Heavy sigh. The search for resolution is cyclical and never-ending.
If we keep looking back to learn what we may have Lost and keep looking ahead to Find what we each Hope will be, then...whatever will be, will be.

Que sara sara.
Whew. I'm weird.
Anyway...enjoy the video.
