Hello Leasing Industry Superstars,

I am back to blogging...this time from the leasing desk. It is good to be back. I am now in Denver and LOVING it.

A month and a half ago, I did the unthinkable thing. I packed up my family and moved to mid-America. Needless to say, this was a risky move. I had no family or friends here. I just followed my heart and considered what is the best future for my kids. Denver won and so far it has been a blast.

Now back to the focus of this blog. I have been in the real estate industry for about 10 years now (where does the time go) and I have been in property management for 8 years. For those who are new to this industry, you will never have a dull moment. You meet people from different walks of life. You realize that you are providing one of the basic essentials of life - shelter. What an awesome feeling it is. If you go into work each morning knowing that you serve this purpose, nothing gets in the way of having a successful day.

On the inauguration of my first leasing blog, I would like to leave this thought with you. My biggest success as a leasing consultant and as a property manager has been through thorough communication. Follow up with your leads on a regular basis. I use technology to help me with this. Constant Contact is a great email marketing program and I recommend management companies to invest in some type of email marketing program. It makes for beautiful and professional presentations. Whenever a resident request some service, please follow up and make sure they are happy with the service. You can't please all the residents all the time. But, you are marketing to retain residents from the very first contact.

The objective of this blog is to share with you the keys to being a successful and fulfilling leasing professional. In the upcoming blogs, I will be discussing marketing, retention, leasing, legal stuff and all that makes this job interesting and fulfilling. I will share my experiences (good and bad) and point out strategies that work. I will also share fascinating websites about the trends in the industry.

I hope you find these to be helpful tools. I welcome any comments or suggestions you may have about topics. I value your opinion and would like to thank you for taking the time to read my ideas. My name is Sarita and I am a Leasing Manager at Greystar Management. I can be reached at topseller007@aol.com.

Happy Leasing!!
