5 Tips for a Great NAA Experience

Are you attending the 2014 NAA Education Conference and Exposition this month in Denver? Read on for five tips to make the most of your conference experience.

1. Make a game plan
It’s easy to get overwhelmed at a big conference like NAA, so be sure to plan ahead! Take a look at the agenda before you hop on the plane to determine which education sessions you want to attend and what exhibitors you want to visit at the expo. NAA has a great planning tool on their website called myNAA Planner that can help.

2. Split up
Are there multiple people from your company attending NAA? Fight the tendency to stick together throughout the entire conference, and instead divide and conquer. Rather than everyone attending the same sessions, split up, and then share what you learned with each other. Plus, if you’re flying solo, you’re more likely to connect with people from other companies that you can learn from.

3. Take notes
You’re going to learn a lot during the education sessions. Make sure you remember it when you get back to the office! Bring along a notebook and pen or your laptop to jot down notes, key takeaways and ideas from each session.

4. Get social
Be sure to follow the NAA hashtag on Twitter (#NAAEduConf) before, during and after the conference. It’s a great way to connect with other conference goers, share ideas and get key insights from sessions you missed.

5. Stay healthy
The way you feel will have a big impact on your conference experience. Help keep yourself in peak shape during NAA by eating healthy, exercising and getting plenty of rest. And remember – you’ll be meeting new people and shaking lots of hands, so be sure to wash your hands frequently – and consider packing a waterless hand sanitizer in your purse or laptop bag.
