Clubhouse & Multifamily: Why You Need to be an Early Adopter

"I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member." —Groucho Marx

Have you joined Clubhouse yet? For those not in the know, this is a new, hot, audio-based app. It's also only available for Apple users, and is currently invite only. (Which is, of course, making me want to score an exclusive invitation even more.)

But why join? Doesn't this sound like a mishmash of podcasts, webinars, Ted Talks and that sleepover party in 8th grade that you weren't invited to but Madison G., Jennifer and Madison C. all talked about incessantly during study hall?

Yes. That's the point.

Podcasts are extremely popular. As of January 2021, there were 43 million podcast episodes. You're probably listening to one now, aren't you!

Webinars and Ted Talks allow people to get a lot of information, and even interact with the experts.

And it's not just individuals who are experimenting on the app. Big companies are already jumping in. For example, Burger King's parent company Restaurant Brands International recently hosted a chat.

Now, multifamily has a reputation for being really slow to adapt to new technology. But now is the time to jump in. Clubhouse could be really useful for multifamily. In fact, it's already catching on with residential real estate agents.
