We are ecstatic about attending this year’s Apartment Internet Marketing Conference, so we decided to highlight the five sessions we are most excited about.  Before we even begin, however, we have to note that there are easily more than five sessions we are looking forward to, but since we can’t simply regurgitate the entire agenda, here are those that really piqued our interest:

Score! Assigning Lead Value and Motivating On-Site Conversions

This session will share how to place a value on prospects to understand which are the perfect leads.  What I’m especially interested in is how lead scoring is quantified and what constitutes a “perfect” prospect.  Is a perfect prospect one that will lease at the highest rent, one that will lease the quickest and most hassle free, or the one that has the highest chance of renewal?  Or maybe a combination of all these and other factors!  If I have several questions before the session even starts, I know it will be great.

Speakers:
Lauren Curley (intro), Marketing Director, Landmark Property Services
Arthur Kosmider, Director of Property Marketing, TGM Communities
Steve Taraborelli, President and CEO, Acperion LLC

Best New Multifamily Start-Up Competition

Having started up several companies myself, including Multifamily Insiders, this will be a highlight of the AIM Conference for me.  The big question that always pops up will be who is integrated with the big property management software companies.  That make-or-break question will define the crop of start-ups, and I’m interested to see how they are handling that difficult challenge.

Little Data: The Simple KPIs You Should Be Following

Are we talking about “Big Data” so much that we are missing out on leveraging small data that is readily available?  This is a must-attend session for smaller companies that don’t have the resources to fully delve into big data discussions, while still wanting to leverage information flowing through their company.

Speakers:
Donald Davidoff (moderator), president, D2 Demand Solutions
Jessica Mills, Director of Revenue Management, Carmel Partners
Scott Wesson, Chief Information Officer, UDR

Keynote: Danny Sullivan on the Google Conspiracy

Yes, it is probably cheating to pick the keynote as one of my top five sessions to attend, but this one should be absolutely fantastic.  Google has shown increases in providing data directly in the search results, without users having to actually click on any search results to find the answer.  So what happens when Google provides 360 walk-throughs, reviews, maps, and video, without having to go to any of your online properties?  Will you be able to manage how that information is shown, and just as important, be able to convert those users into prospects?

Speaker:
Danny Sullivan, Founding Editor, Search Engine Land

Enamor Your Audience: Capturing Customer Heart & Soul

What really fascinates me about this session is the potential for multifamily marketing to hit an emotional chord with prospects, relative to other consumer products.  While Coca-Cola and Apple manage to strike an emotional connection with their customers and prospects, multifamily properties all too often fall flat, instead focusing on floor plans and a list of amenities.  What’s most frustrating about that predicament is that apartment living encompasses so much of our customer’s lives, and we should be able to create and leverage an emotional connection on that front.  I’m really excited about what this group has to share.

Speakers:
Terry Feinberg, Principal, Moxxy Marketing
Shabnam Mogharabi, CEO, SoulPancake and former Editor in Chief, Multifamily Executive Magazine
