We have a great resident that has been with us for a few years. During her residency, she has only had 1 or 2 work requests. She lives on the second floor. A few months ago, her boyfriend moved in. He is between 400 and 500 pounds (At least). Since he moved in, we have work orders almost daily. A few weeks ago, we had to replace the shower pan. The weight rating for a shower pan maxes out around 350-400 lbs. We did not charge the resident for the repair; however, the resident called again yesterday to say that they think that the new shower pan is leaking. How do I diplomatically tell the resident that he needs to use the cast iron tub (It has a shower head) and stop using the walk-in shower because it is not rated for his weight? #1, I don't want to embarrass him or her and I don't want to hurt his feelings. #2, I don't want a fair housing complaint.
