Imagine a new leasing consultant walks up to you and asks for your top 3 apartment leasing tips to becoming a leasing superstar. What would you tell him/her?

My first tip would be to act like a consultant, not like a salesperson. Get to know them and their circumstances so you know what needs they have in an apartment, rather than rattling off a canned sales speech.

Tip # 1 Be genuine
Tip # 2 Ask for the deposit
Tip # 3 Follow up until they either they lease or ask you to stop

1. Be knowledgeable about your product - learn your apartment's features and benefits.
2. Know Fair Housing laws - don't guess!
3. Have fun - show your personality and enthusiasm - having that warm and friendly attitude will help keep you calm during your presentation!
