Topic: Mold testing responsibility

A resident's doctor suggested that we should perform mold testing in their apartment. The entire family is experiencing allergy symptoms since moving from another state, but their child is experiencing a cough too.

They are currently allergy testing the child, but the doctor wants to rule out mold so he made this suggestion. We have inspected the apartment thoroughly and found no sign of mold nor any odor. What is the protocol for this situation?

I would ask for legal assistance on this issue. IF mold is found, you could be opening up the property and owners for a lawsuit. Tenants could claim anything and everything from poor maintenance, poor management to poor construction. Tenants never blame themselves for anything.

I would not test for mold until you get legal advice.
