My property manager gave me $23 to decorate the office for fall. I'm the only festive person in the office so I did request money and that's what she gave me. I want us to come across as festive and upbeat when people come into the office. I'm not sure if I should get one large item with the money or a bunch of small things. What would get noticed by residents when they walk into the office?

My first thought would be Apple Pie smell! I'd buy something to scent the office with that is associated with fall. You might also put together a grouping of small pumpkins (one for each staff member with a painted, smiling face is always fun) and lots of leaf cut outs of various colors, sizes, etc. You can plaster the cut outs all over the windows, etc. You can also make a scarecrow sitting on a hay bale, too. None of this costs much!

Look on Pinterest for some cheap, self-made ideas. There are a lot of them!!

I would buy these from a craft or dollar store:

Black or Orange paint
Packet or two of paper fall leaves
Black and Orange construction or stock paper
Pumpkin and spice air spray or candle
Lots of candy corn

Use the leaves to spread around the office and make everyone name badges out of them. "You'll Fall in Love With Us!"

I have birch trees on my property. You can use tree branches like these, paint them orange or black. Cover them with Christmas lights.

Find a bat template online and cut them out of black and orange paper. Hang them on the branches for a cute Halloween tree.

Ask everyone at the office if they have trees in their yard with those huge acorns. Some are bigger than a quarter!

Smell is important!
