However, if it is an older community, they be using that term to mean: smaller space with cabinets that are not "built in" but have a frame around the cabinet doors. Freestanding cabinets can present a certain charm so it just comes down to taste. Sometimes, this term is simply applied to an older property without natural stone countertops (think laminate) that may also have a washer/dryer in the kitchen. Think galley kitchen, a tighter space.
