Has anyone’s company started to mandate vaccines? Mine has, and I’m about to lose half of my staff over this. I’d love to have a place to share which companies are doing this so that those of us who will not be getting vaccinated have an idea on where to start looking for other opportunities! Thanks all.

I was on a call with other companies in the industry this a.m., and these were all OPINIONS, not any advice based on legal or health or insurance professionals. Only one company on the call was requiring vaccinations of employees, and they were requiring the vaccination cards be uploaded into the payroll system. There was discussion of requiring masks again, but most on the call said their companies were reticent to require the vaccine. The consensus was that there was potential risk to the employer if the vaccine caused any side effects, if people got sick anyway, risk of losing employees who didn't want to take it, etc. I hope this helps!

This is a great topic. I have gone back and forth trying to decide what is fair, safe, and reasonable. I don’t want to infringe on the belief in “my body, my choice” position. I am surprised how many members of my team, below the age of 40, that are not vaccinated. I guess they think I ended up in the hospital for 6 days with Covid because I was so old! Well that was not the case. Covid is hitting all age groups now with serious cases. I honestly don’t want my team to suffer but I believe it is still their choice. What I can protect is our company and the economic impact of extended sick leave for Covid. So, we have made it clear that when you run out of sick time, you must take the time off without pay. We require a minimum of 14 days off with a Covid diagnosis. We do not want our team to use vacation time to cover their sick leave. We all need a vacation at some point in the year. We also reserve the right to replace the team member should we not be able to cover the extended medical absence. We probably won’t need to but we have that option. I hope these Covid issues come to an end soon.

what does mandating vaccines do for the company or residents? The vaccine doesn't stop transition.

Yes, we are required to vaccinate and to wear masks at all times while in the office. There are not many of us that work at the office so it is not inconvenient. As we are all older individuals we all agreed to get the shots. Two of our employees still got the Delta variant of the virus but did not get sick enough to go to the hospital.

Or...don't be idiots and go get vaccinated. Stop believing conspiracy theories. The vaccine is safe and effective. The unvaccinated are causing the pandemic to drag on and mutations to take hold. Go get vaccinated.

They are not mandating it, but my company has incentivised us by offering to pay us $500 if we get fully vaccinated and show proof with our vaccination card.

Most of the new cases are in fully vaccinated individuals. My daughter works in a nursing home and my mom is in another nursing home. No deaths between the two places. My daughters, my grandson, my mom and myself all had covid. All the adults have autoimmune disorders, diabetes and other things that put us in high risk and we were all fine. Just slept for a few days.

This entire thing is ridicilous. I am vaccine injured and will not survive another vaccine.

People who have underlying inflammatory issues or dormant viruses are encountering more problems with the vaccines. We've been getting many reports of people having adverse heart and neurological issues: tumors, seizures, bells palsy, and shingles. So mandating this for everyone isn't wisdom.

Read today that the following companies are requiring proof of vaccination: Apple, Twitter, Facebook, Salesforce, Uber, Lyft, Microsoft, not that they are necessarily who our industry follows. It would seem to me if someone had a medical waiver or religious reasons, an employer may consider waiving the requirement.

I think it's a great idea and is the only way out of this hot mess before more infectious variants are created.
