Topic: Criminal Screening Illegal (Oh, Seattle)

FARE Housing ( Fair Accessible Renting for Everyone ) is now the law of the land in Seattle; that means that landlords are prohibited from "screening applicants based on past arrests or criminal convictions."

No longer is the disparate impact of blanket "no criminal history" the yardstick for Seattle; instead, our hands are tied unless the applicant is required to register as a sex offender if they committed their crime as an adult.
