I manage 50 units in a horseshoe shaped community. The middle has a large green area where we have 2 picnic tables, that no one uses, and a 2-seater swing.

No pool, clubhouse, playground, nothing. It's more like a small condo community.

I drove by a local church with a sign out inviting people to a "Drive-In Movie." I wondered how they would do that. Then I thought about how our city used to have an outdoor movie one night a week. Everyone just brought a blanket and sat outside to watch.

Has anyone done anything like this? Our green area would be ideal for something like this in nice weather.

Thoughts?

Hello! I have done a 'dive in movie' at one of my communities in the past. Since you don't have a pool, you can still do the following: call your local rental store (i.e. Aaron Rents, CORT Furniture). Ask them to supply the big screen and the extension cords. Tell them you'll be happy to advertise for them in your move-in packets or on a community bulletin board or newsletter in exchange for their donation of the t.v. for that evening. Speak with your local pizza place. As, that they donate a few pizzas. Since you only have 50 units it shouldn't be difficult to 'twist their arm'. If they won't do that, spend the $25 bucks and rent a popcorn machine. It's loads of fun and the Residents will love to smell the popcorn popping.

Hope that helps:)
