Hello! Does anyone have any advice on updating your property's directions on Google Maps? We have a Google My Business (GMB) account where we can update the address and drop the pin on the map. However, the directions are still taking prospects in through the back of the property and we would prefer they drive in through the front entrance. Your comments are greatly appreciated! Happy Hump Day!

I have done this before, but I’ll need to refresh my memory. Is the pin in the right spot

For me, my problem is that the building is new construction, but Google won’t allow us to do anything with the address since it’s under construction. Since the property is in preleasing, the ads are all wrong info. The ads say one town when it’s really the other. But google won’t do anything because it’s not a “completed and established business”

Yes, the pin is in the right spot. However, the directions take you the long way and in the back, which is not as appealing as the front. We want prospects directed to the front of the property.

Do you have an address and it is verified through your Google My Business through the mailed postcard? It can even be mailed to the construction site trailer. This is the MOST important step.

I had it sent, but the problem is that because of the confusion in the address USPS is also having issues on their end. I worked with them and with the city, but it’s still ongoing

If you have a serviceable postal address where you can receive mail, it’s established enough.

There are some things you can do with other GPS/nav services to create a secondary pin specifically for driving directions. Google doesn’t always use it, but it might be worth talking to your SEO vendor about this.

I have contacted google in an attempt to correct Google's GPS directions a few times and they do respond and tell me that they corrected it, but GPS still sends people to the same dead-end locked gate. Grrrrrrr
