Topic: What are other Management Companies giving their residents for move-in gift

I’m in DC area and was wondering what other Management Companies are giving their residents for move-in gifts. If you’re still doing this, what’s your budget per item. Just curious...appreciate it.

Think about the unboxing experience for a new computer, new shoes, or a premium subscription box; it often feels special enough that people will share the experience on social media. This is always the goal.

I love Loop & Tie, but I think you want to create an experience the day they move in. I love Gus’ example here because it’s unique and creates the local connection. You can do custom-branded packaging for cheap in bulk. We’ve also seen printed towels and growlers that include a free fill-up at the neighborhood tap room.

One other direction is to just take a load off the residents. Buy them dinner on move-in day; free pizza and beer can go a long way!

I am curious as to the price points on rents? Are you doing this on low end properties also?

Yes but it's nice as fancy as my higher end properties. The on-site will make the move-in gift and wrap it nicely. It will cost anywhere from $10-$12 to make, if that.

We did the plunger idea. We put a roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels on the handle.

I usually make a folder with information in the area, like near by schools, stores, restaurant's I also include Information on our pool rules and policy. I also make a basket with pine sol, toilet paper, paper towels, finish. I wrap it up and make it look pretty. I buy everything at the dollar tree. total price per gift if $5.00.... Cheap but beauitful

Hey! We go to the dollar store and get a strainer, shrink wrap( it comes with a bow), colorful tissue paper and 2 wine glasses. Then we go to the grocery store and get a pack of noodles, pasta sauce, and a bottle of wine( cheap but good quality). We put all the goodies inside the strainer, wrap it in the shrink wrap and bow. All comes out to less than $15 dollars and it is a perfect quick move-in dinner gift for new residents and they get to keep the wine glasses and strainer!
