Hi! For those of you that use a mobile facilities app, like Facilities Plus by RealPage, which requires an app on your phone or other device, how are you handling the phone situation on site? Are you buying service teams phones, paying for their personal phone, just requiring them to have the app as part of their job...?

I need some real life intel on what y'all are doing please! Thank you!

We are using an app site plan for work orders and we aren't buying phones or devices. Teams are using their own devices

Tablets bought on Amazon. You can get them for $100 with a SIM slot. Then buy the Bring Your Own Tablet plan from StraightTalk at Walmart. 1G of data is $15 a month. Then we don't have to reimburse for personal phone use.

We have IPads. Set up internet in both of my models and in a common area of one of my buildings so it can sync. Mid rise, 417 units and 4 bldgs. Seems to be working fine for the last 9 months or so

You can set up facilities plus to only download off the employees phones when they’re on a WiFi connection. Thus, you’re not really required to pay for their cell phones.

Not sure how you feel about that… but that’s why they made it that way.

We purchased iPads and cases for everyone. Put them all on the phone plan so they can sync no matter where they are at. It’s been working pretty good so far.

Its an app. No data required and uses barely any battery life. Using own devices.

Also ... there is a security app that basically divides your personal phone into two parts. We use it at RP. My work apps are on the "work" side and all my stuff is on the "personal " side of the phone I own. If I ever left RP, our IT group just deactivates the security app ... which removes everything work related for my phone. Made me nervous at first ... but now I prefer it. I feel like the work data is much more secure. Also less hassle if I lose my phone. Solves lots of issues. It also requires you to have a passcode to open the phone... so no one can steal company data by stealing the phone.

We have an ipad at each property but there is also a reimbursement for employees that require mobile service. They can either keep their phone and be reimbursed a flat amount or they can get a company cell phone.
