I have mine. I’m a APM though.
I usually just use mine for friends and family.
I think it was worth it.

In Michigan, anyone in leasing working in the office has to have their RE license. I got mine 3 years ago.

I've never needed it. I've been a leasing agent all the way up to director of operations and it's never been needed.

I was in property management. I got licensed in 2016 and have not looked back. I make 3x as much as I did and work from home 90% of the time. I love the flexibility that I have and don’t miss the politics of working for a company. The tax write offs are pretty amazing too.

I made a very very VERY good life in property management, but after being put through the wringer during the pandemic, I said deuces. Most of my realtor friends makes six figures. They work from home most of the time. The flexibility of their lives is something we all wish we had. That’s why I made the switch. I got sick to death of owners being up our asses over residents financial situations that we have no control over.

I have mine. Used it sell real estate on the side while managing apartment complexes. But now I'm a Managing Broker at a Property Management/Real Estate firm. Very worth it!

In hawaii. It's required for property management to collect rent and sign leases. Blah. Can't do anything with it as long as I'm in PM.

I’m not licensed anymore but I was for several years. It was a requirement to lease and manage single family homes in GA. I had a portfolio of 300 homes. It was a lot of work dealing with both homeowners and tenants directly. But for every new lease, I received 1/2 of the first month’s rent. The cheapest house was $1250/mo so during busy months there’s a potential to make a lot of extra money. Way better than $50-$100/lease at apartment communities

Most states it is embarrassingly easy to get. Basically like cutting it off the back of a crackerjack box.

I’m in South Carolina. In this state, PM’s are required to hold a Property Manager, Salesman or Broker license from the Real Estate Commission in order to carry out Property Manager duties.

Many states require it to oversee more than one property. I got my RE license in 2006 and my Broker license in 2014. I am now the DB for our company.

I had mine back when I was on-site in IL. I was in my very early 20's and it was worth it to me, especially as a resume builder. I let it lapse when I no longer needed it. I think it was also really important information I have used many times in my life both personal and professional.

I have mine, I am a PM now on a transition from an extended stay to apartment homes. It’s definitely nothing I have done before however now pursuing my CAM. But the real estate schooling has helped especially because my company makes us do fair housing classes so I am way ahead of the ball game
