Anyone having a difficult time with appliance shortages on your lease up? The delay on delivery is brutal! If so any creative ideas on how to temporarily overcome this?
We started renovations last March just before covid got really bad. Went well for a while. Pretty much we get what we can get in stainless steel. We have GE..... LG ....Samsung. . Frigidaire. It's going to be a nightmare with all the warranties run out
Usually you can still get a CO without appliances. If so, offer 50% rent discount until they are delivered. Some people will take you up on it just to move in a bit slower.
I work in the supply chain / purchasing industry right now (formally prop management) but we are facing the same issue with us and our vendors…nationwide shortages on a lot of things!
I’ve even thought if we can get plain white basic refrigerators and then donate them to charity (tax write off for owners) might be a good idea. Currently looking for pricing and availability.
It’s crazy! I just got an approval for a new move in to bring their own mini fridge!! Temporary of course but new to me!! These days We have to ask the weird questions because nothing is off the table at this point.
How about period? Having issues with appliances and basic maintenance supplies due to worker shortage, stock shortage, and supplies being stuck on a ship somewhere over seas...
Just had a tenant report their range is on the fritz. It is an older model. Since she is a good tenant we were going to replace it, rather than try and find the parts, which are also scarce. She may have to limp along on 3 burners for awhile....
The GE response for work orders is also a month and a half. I am having problems getting fobs as well as pretty much any supplies having to do with hvac or plumbing. 2021 has been a *fun* year
