HAND WRITTEN note of appreciation...sent to their home via US mail. Could include a gift card if you feel like your words aren't valuable enough.

It may be silly but, just sitting down and talking with them and telling them what great employees they are and how much they are appreciated. A lot of times we think we are just a number…..it makes us feel expendable. Knowing how much we are appreciated is comforting.

My company does a weekly meeting on Microsoft Teams. We talk about our week, recognize exemplary staff members, and help each other resolve problems.

As a District Manager, I pick 2 of my employees every month, and I send a small gift card to Wegmans, Starbucks, Dunkin' donuts, with a note that explains why I appreciate them. This is not from my company, this is from me personally to my team member. Now, they don't have to be superstars, they could have learned something new, they could be struggling, they could have done something amazing for another team member or maybe a resident. It's not any one specific thing, it depends on what strikes me as a win for that month.I hope my team knows how much I appreciate them. The site staff are the ones that hold down the property and make it work. They are on the front lines and have one of the hardest jobs in this industry.
