Thoughts on working for Greystar as a PM? I’m curious to know your thoughts on pay, benefits, relationship with upper management/owners, expectations, etc. Thanks in advance!

I am a RM with GS in Orlando and there are several long term employees who have been with Greystar and absolutely love it, and I can see why. I also think it would depend on your owner if you work in third-party which I do.
Expectations are clearly outlined and benefits are amazing. I also love that they truly believe in investing in their employees.

I’ve never worked for Greystar, but I have heard to not work for them. There’s a lot of rules and expectations and very little train from what I’ve been told, some sites are central support so it’s less people in office but the demand and need is still there. Pay is competitive, benefits are good and things like that but no work from home, and not very much training at the beginning

I worked for them for many years. It gave me a higher level of understanding property management. They are a huge company though so it depends on what your work goals are and what makes you enjoy your career.
If you’re wanting more knowledge on financials, budgeting, addressing owners needs, being responsive and holding your team members accountable, you’d be great. I left their employ 7 years ago and I’m still saying, “With Greystar, we did ….” I loved working for them and only left as I moved.

Ask question is all I will say about any company really! Ask about your owner ask about the budget ask about the expectations ask about what they see as a ideal manager in their mind. I feel like often times we’re so eager for a new role we don’t ask enough questions. Good luck.

It honestly depends on two factors: your RPM and your client (if you are 3rd party).

I’ll go back to Greystar as long as I never work for the manager I used to work for.
There’s some PM’s who get on a high horse and think their team is there to do all the work they don’t feel like doing , someone to shift blame onto and of course leave and are never there but somehow the team is the problem. Nevertheless give it a try I’ll go back in heart beat just as long as I know who it working with lol 😆

I am in Central South and have been with them for going on 15 years. I have worked under three Regionals - one was the devil and it was for only 6 months years ago but the other two have been phenomenal! work/life balance is good - benefits are awesome! I have been in this industry for 23 years and this company expects more from their employees than other companies. there are things that sometimes piss me off but honestly, the only way I plan to leave is by the grave. love Greystar and I love the people!
