Public Housing: The Overlooked Frontier in PropTech?
#tuesdaytruth

PropTech conversations often focus on luxury buildings…

…but public housing deserves a seat at the table.

Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) are facing unprecedented uncertainty: unstable federal funding, rising costs, and a critical shortage of affordable housing.

Yet their mission hasn’t changed: providing safe, stable homes for those who need them most.

To meet this challenge, PHAs are turning to PropTech not for innovation’s sake, but for survival.

Tools like MRI Software ’s PHA Pro and Assistance Connect are helping PHAs cut processing times by 50%, reduce utility costs up to 30%, and slash admin workloads by 60%.

These aren’t upgrades.
They’re necessities.

As Warren Buffett said: “Predicting rain doesn’t count. Building arks does.”

It’s time to publicly recognize public housing as a vital part of the PropTech ecosystem and support the agencies building the arks their communities depend on.

Too often the proptech skips over where the real innovation pressure lives.
PHAs are under constant pressure, which means they end up driving some of the most creative, constraint-driven problem solving in the entire housing ecosystem.

Thanks for highlighting this.
