Bulk speeds vs. retail speeds are not always the same, and residents notice.

In bulk telecom agreements, the property negotiates a STANDARD speed package for all units. That is the bulk speed.
Retail speeds are what an individual resident could purchase on their own outside of a bulk deal.
Here is where the gap shows up.
Bulk packages are often set at a lower or mid-tier speed to control cost. Meanwhile, the provider’s retail offerings continue to increase over time.
Now you have a disconnect.
Residents see ads for higher speeds. But their included service is lower.
That turns into upgrades, complaints, or churn.
This is not just a tech issue. It is an amenity issue.
The speed you lock in today may not feel competitive in 3 to 5 years.
The smarter approach is thinking beyond the starting package and looking at how speeds evolve over the term.
👨🏫 Telecom Tip: Negotiate upgrade paths and future-proofing into the agreement. Bulk should keep pace with the market, not fall behind it.
