While you might not get asked all of the time for ADA-compliant floors, it's good to know you have options that are stable, firm, and that meet ADA slip resistant requirements. These characteristics ensure safe and easy navigation for individuals using wheelchairs or that may need other mobility assistance.
If you have a resident who is in a wheel chair or has a family member in one, note this for future reference. Or you may have an upcoming community catered to 55+ that may be interested in compliance. Are you working on a more commercial spec catering to active adult? You can have affordable and attainable ADA-compliant floors. It is available with LVP options with a full spread glue installation.
How?
There is an LVP that exists that does not click together in a floating installation. This is a fully glue down install. There will be no worries of the "lip" cracking or breaking underneath the added weight or strain of a wheel chair. This gives maximum stability and longevity.
There are so many beautiful options available. You can get a rustic look to help hide wear and tear in a high variation from plank to plank. Or you can opt for a cleaner minimalistic white oak visual. There are even concrete, stone and marble visuals.
Proof:
Jared Allen Homes for Wounded Warriors is a proud partner of ours with ADA-compliant floors. We proudly donate 100% of our flooring to JAH4WW. No sacrificing style or design for compliance. We are delighted to offer a heartfelt thanks to these veterans.
