Trends flow in and out of fashion. A designers job is to identify which ones have staying power to keep your next project fresh and meaningful for years to come. A key trend in multi-family that has emerged is Epic Nostalgia.
Close your eyes and imagine all of the goodness of growing up in your childhood home. Do certain looks, styles, colors or textures emerge?
If so, apply some of those retro elements in new fresh ways to your spaces. Examples of Epic Nostalgia might be:
Incorporating familiar colors (any 70's babies remember Avocado Green and Harvest Gold?)
Does Terracotta come to mind for a tiled laundry, kitchen or bathroom?
How about Terrazzo for workout room floors, accents or backsplashes?
Shag carpets or rugs?
Hardwood floor nostalgic colors but in LVP?
All of these retro looks have made their way back into modern decor. You can tippy toe back into Epic Nostalgia or dive in head first.
These yesteryear looks now have fresh textures, colors, and still pack some vintage flair.
What's old is new again, especially for younger generations that didn't experience this their first time around.
