I’m not renting from you if you don’t stand up when I enter the office

I’m not renting from you if you don’t stand up when I enter the office

If that offends you… it's probably because it applies to you.

Call it old school. Call it high standards.
I call it basic human decency.

Let's be honest here:

If you can't stand up to greet someone who might pay your property $20K+ this year…

You're not a leasing professional at all.

You're a warm body in a chair 😭

When a prospect walks in and you stay seated, you're communicating:

→ "You're an inconvenience."
→ "I'm not invested in you enough yet."
→ "This job makes me feel like the Help."

And then people wonder why their occupancy is tanking.

It's mind boggling 😵‍💫

Prospects decide if they trust you in the first 2–5 seconds.

Which means half the market is losing deals before the tour even starts.

Not because of pricing,
Not because of competition,
but because someone couldn't be bothered to stand up.

When I worked onsite, I out-closed entire teams.
Not because I had the best tour path, or had the best days all the time.

I stood up.
I smiled.
I shook hands.
I offered water.
I made people feel like they were the main character because to them, they are.

And guess who they asked for when they came back?

Me 👏🏽 Every 👏🏽 Time.

Customer service isn't dead.
People just stopped trying.

So if your leasing agents stay seated when a prospect walks in?

You don't have a traffic problem.
You don't have a marketing problem.
Heck, you don't even have a leasing problem.

You have a standards problem.

And standards always decide revenue.

I train teams across the country 🇺🇸 every week.
The ones who win have one thing in common:

They act like prospects matter.
It's not like they contribute to you getting paid or anything.

Be brutally honest with yourself:
Would YOU lease from someone who didn't stand up for you?

Exactly.
