Sessions We Are Looking Forward to at Apartmentalize

Sessions We Are Looking Forward to at Apartmentalize

Identifying a plan of attack for Apartmentalize is extremely challenging, with strong educational opportunities across the board.  After initially narrowing down my list of top sessions, I was still left with 42 to pick from.  Another round got me down to 21, so to further narrow it down to 6 was a monumental task, and a testament to the strength of the conference this year.

Artificial Intelligence and the Future of the Industry

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not a passing trend and property management companies recognize this. Following onto NAA's AI research report, this interactive fishbowl session features industry leaders discussing how they're using AI, how they're measuring Return on Investment (ROI), and how they're navigating challenges. They will also reveal their thoughts on AI's potential impact on the future of the industry. Have something to share yourself? Jump onto the panel and be a part of the conversation, or just listen in on an insightful discussion about AI's evolution in property management.

What I love about this session topic: There is no shortage of AI education in today's world, but what is often lacking is an analysis on the tangible results of AI implementations.  In this case, they are measuring ROI from AI strategies, which is extremely compelling, and is also an extremely strong group of speakers.

Elevate Your Spreadsheet: Transitioning Underwriting to Achievable NOI

This session emphasizes the importance of involving all on-site and corporate roles at every step along the underwriting process. It encourages a new way of thinking when taking on acquisitions that ensures what you are putting in your spreadsheet is actionable; rather than backing into the goal and trying to make the numbers work, learn how to ask the people doing that actual job if it is, in the end, doable.

What I love about this session topic: People have a tendency to underestimate feedback from those on the front lines.  An effective acquisitions don't only exist on a spreadsheet, so this emphasis on getting real feedback during underwriting is absolutely key.

Press 1 for Human: Optimizing Employee Roles for an AI Future

Finding our role in an industry that has become inundated with AI can be challenging. Hear about how traditional roles are being redefined, what skills are needed for effective collaboration with AI, and strategies for fostering a culture that values human contributions. We'll discuss where the human element still matters most, and how to marry the two, ensuring innovation and engagement in a rapidly changing environment.

What I love about this session topic: AI can't be something that is avoided, and I love the way this session frames the use of AI as a collaboration, simply rethinking what areas of our operations are best suited for the human touch and which are not.

Ultimate Guide to Perfecting Relationships with Owners, Investors, and Stakeholders

Whether you're presenting financial updates, navigating strategic decisions or addressing concerns, the way you communicate to stakeholders can make all the difference in driving success and maintaining strong relationships. Seasoned industry experts will share insights on how to build trust, manage expectations and deliver messages that resonate. From preparing clear, concise reports to mastering negotiation and conflict resolution, gain the skills needed to communicate with confidence and clarity.

What I love about this session topic: Half the battle of effective communication is simply speaking the same language, as well as understanding your audience to identify what factors they care about most. In that way, the needs of the audience is often just as important as the information you want to convey. As a bonus, this is a powerhouse speaker panel.

The Vital Role of the Regional Property Manager

Regional community managers are the vital connective tissue of the rental business, the cogs that make things work. They are more important than ever--especially as companies expand geographic footprints and the distance between employees increases. The most effective managers possess humane, sophisticated communications skills and the knack to find common ground between team members at different levels. Hear about their roles and identify strategies to help them become more successful.

What I love about this session topic: Regional managers are often the lost middle in multifamily. We offer countless training and career development for on-site teams, and executives are often decently served in some way, but regionals can often be forgotten.
