Resident initiatives are seriously scary.  Finding people you can trust to get involved in community activities takes time, but it is seriously worth the effort.

When residents take ownership in a community some amazing things can happen.  Here’s one idea that can have a profound impact on your community.

What if every time a resident moved in, a group of existing residents (perhaps led by one of the staff) met them with smiles, essential first day gifts, and a helping hand?  The beginning of a beautiful friendship!  Some people call this “community”.

Most people love helping, and even more want to be accepted and belong.  Transitioning to a new home is one of the most difficult transitions of all, especially when moving from out of town or out of state.  People crave connection, and something as small as a few people welcoming your new residents is a big deal.

This could be a great start to your community becoming exceptional.  Being different and standing apart from every other community is a good thing, and nowadays the word can spread faster than ever.
