White Walls Are So 1985

White Walls Are So 1985

We let our residents paint their apartments.  We even offer to do it for them as a move-in incentive or for a small fee per wall.  This really helps for them to personalize their space and make it feel like home.  We want them to enjoy their living experience at J.C. Hart, and coming home to an apartment that has a personal touch and some color can help them to do so.

At J.C. Hart we work with a number of vendors for paint and painting.  One in particular is CertaPro painters.  They have franchises across the U.S. and have a great website.  Check out Kristen's Fall Color palatte here.

Do you also do this for renewals as an incentive? Maybe combine with a free shampoo for a "New Apartment Feel"?

Yes, we have offered accent walls as a renewal incentive. Not our number 1 choice of ideas as it's much easier to paint an empty apartment before someone moves in, but we've done it. I think everyone offers the carpet shampoo now-a-days. We've also done ceiling fans, cabinet hardware, new light fixtures, etc. One thing that is a great idea for renewals is a vacuum cleaner. A few years back I remember someone sharing some information about how only 25-30% of renters even own a vacuum. Wow!
