The executives tell me they’re "revolutionizing" the leasing process.
Then my friends text me at 11 PM because they can’t get a simple answer about a floor plan from a chatbot.

If the tech is so good, why are vacancy rates still a mess?
If the "innovation" is working, why is the renter experience still so broken?

We have companies that have been trying to solve this for a decade.
They haven't won yet.
It makes me question if we’re actually helping or if we’re just adding layers of noise between the renter and the door.

I don't know.
Maybe we're all just over-engineering a process that really just needs someone to pick up the phone.

PS we did almost 400 mystery shops in the last month. ONLY 28 leasing teams called the renter back. So, calling leads probably is a hack right now. Show more
