Lisa - what is the ideal solution for package and all deliveries? Would it be a technology solution to have a delivery be in a secured box next to each unit or thru a wall / door for it to be inside the home without opening the door? A technology that tracks and notifies residents of all orders - plus perhaps management messaging / communication with tenants?

Hi Craig! Thank you for weighin in and for the additional stats from the NMHC study. I'm aware of the revenue share from lockers. I was just trying to think of other ways communities could try to recoup the costs. While I like the locker idea, I'm no

I don't know about Avalon and their AVA brand changing anything with regards to tattoos and piercings. But you bring up a good point...have any of these companies that ban these items in the workplace ever surveyed their customers to find out what is

Donna, I can totally see a tattoo as a conversation starter. And I think your point about 'hate' tattoos is well made. I think we're starting to see some changes in the workplace on it (based upon my research), but I still think there's a long, long

So, Mindy, are you saying that companies in student housing and urban settings (the two you specifically mentioned) could potentially be short-changing their staff and by extension, the success of the property by enforcing dress codes?
-
Agreed! I can see properties with an older, more upscale clientele worrying about that. What I do wonder is about student housing as that really serves two masters more than any housing we have. I don't see that many college students being bothered,

Last week, I dropped my oldest daughter off at school and noticed that the vast majority of her art teachers were tatted and pierced. That didn't totally surprise me, as they were ALL art teachers. But it got me to thinking...is the 'old standard' ...

Yes, I think she's set the foam hand industry back a few years. At least with most adults.

Tina, while I still think that there is some bad press out there, I really don't think she did anything that is going to hurt her in the least little bit. I think she's going to continue to raise eyebrows and create headlines...and sell music.

Ah, thanks for the clarification!

Interesting comment from Mr. Vaynerchuck. I'm definitely not romanticizing what she did. I think it's pretty creepy when you look at it strictly as a Mom to two teenagers. But I do stick by my five points. I think she stuck to her brand and helped pe

I can't help but share my friend Duncan's (@firebelly) thoughts on this. http://www.firebellymarketing.com/2011/09/content-conversations-mbj-rule.html

I enjoyed this post, Lisa! Thanks for sharing. I pretty much opinions on everything...so when I started my business I had to make a conscious decision about when, how often and if I shared my personal views on Facebook and Twitter. I do have a busine

Rommel, I'm just glad you are using common sense in your posts! Thanks for commenting. Hopefully, people will learn there is a right way and a wrong way when you are trying to do business.

I think Duncan needs to come up with one where the acronym is LMT (my initials)!

Clearly you have never seen my oldest daughter's posts! If you had, you would understand why I am capable of pushing aside "unique" posts. I do agree there is the risk of someone choosing to not do business with someone who posts something they find

Lisa, as you know I consider you one of my dearest friend, closest, admired industry professional, and more importantly "family". Probably your most endearing quality is your ability to voice your own personal opinion without ever defaming or belitt
