I had to reply based on Peter's response. As an Association Executive, please be advised that, although each NAA affiliate operates autonomously and there are some variances in exam administration, the CAPS exam IS NOT OPEN BOOK. If someone took the exam in an unprotected environment and used their text, that is in violation of the program's intent and the student acted inappropriately. Many affiliates choose to proctor all exams on a set schedule for this reason; in Houston, for example, all of our credential exams are taken in a secured proctored environment on a designated date and there is no access to the text. Also, the CAPS curriculum is in the middle of an extensive rewrite and will be launched in an all new version later this summer. The new exam is a more rigorous, two-part test that will require a proctored environment, similar to how CAM is now.
