In 2020, the EPA has mandated the complete phase out of R-22 because of it's high ozone depletion potential. Join Angel Davila to help get ahead of the curve as he'll be discussing: R-410A conversions, substitute refrigerants, and how to avoid cross contaminating HVAC systems at your community.

The cost of R-22 is on the rise, as it will no longer be produced after 2020, and the only availability thereafter will be based upon recycled or reclaimed refrigerant. This should be alarming to maintenance professionals as over the years a 30-pound cylinder that used to go for $40 has now sky-rocketed to $500+ per tank. The old saying of "if you fail to plan, then plan to fail" will become an understatement, and properties should begin preparations for retrofitting or complete replacement of their current HVAC systems. During the inevitable changeover process, teams should also begin labeling the systems to avoid cross-contamination which could result in compressor failures, voiding of the warranty, and in some cases the mixing of refrigerants can cause the mixture to become flammable!

Join Angel Davila on May 9, 2018 to plan for the R-22 phase out.
