This month, we talked about winterization during our morning coffee here in my part of Virginia. We are fortunate not to get too many winter storms, but as a result, sometimes we are caught off-guard. The session focused on prepping for big freezes or storms. It included practical tips like turning the heat on in your vacants, checking for out-of-town residents to ensure their heat is on, setting faucets to drip, and opening your cabinet doors. T ...
Quick question for senior apartment sites:
For residents that have mobility issues and have the motorized carts, do you allow them to park it in the lobby area as long as it is out of the way if they are leaving for doctors appointments? Or do you make them figure out different ways to come down to the common area to leave?

I have a resident that has a cart that they use to get from the 3rd floor to the main lobby floor and leaves it there. It has never been an issue before but now my regional is stating that they are no longer allowed to do that. We allow it at our other site but the regional is telling this resident that they have to use a wheelchair and to take that with them when they leave. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Hey! Did you know that Travis Kelce (who is a Tight End for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League) and Taylor Swift (who is Taylor Swift) are potentially dating? Most people think communication is about what they are saying, however exceptional communication isn't about what you said, it is about what the other person heard. Every single individual involved in a maintenance request should know what is happening at every step in the process and can get engaged if they need to. Should the resident call to ask what the status of their request, no matter who picks up the phone, that employee should know. Per ...
One tug of a loose thread and the whole thing could come unraveled, which aptly frames the challenges many communities face when it comes to towing. Regardless of how many people complain about their reserved spot being inhabited by someone else, the data says the issue is usually caused by only a few people. Yes, you read that right. Just a few of your residents can impact overall resident satisfaction. On average, 1.7% of your residents are res ...

Are you looking to start a small group within your company? What are ...
Well, i've seen a lot of interesting and "entertaining" correspondence in my 23 years but there's always a first..
First time I have seen a previous resident copy the "Attorney General UN International Court of Justice of Human Rights" on a move out charge dispute email.
I wonder if they will be hearing her case soon. 🤦♂️
